Job description:
Directs manufacturing operations for two plants. Build and develop processes and procedures to support strategic direction in Operations. Establish operations initiatives for improvement in safety, delivery, quality, cost, and employee relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Hands on participant while establishes operations standards for safety, on-time delivery, quality, cost control, and waste reduction
- Establishes manufacturing policies in manufacturing techniques, material usage, shipping and receiving, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures
- Work closely with the Engineering, Operations, Purchasing and Shipping teams to ensure seamless coordination between operational and field service activities, enhancing overall efficiency.
- Liaison between Engineering, Operations and HR to resolve Safety, Quality, Customer Service and Cost issues.
- Directs implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and continuous improvement practices throughout departments
- Oversees the implementation of manufacturing schedules, manpower and facilities requirements, and safety programs
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships
- Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, enhancing the organization's resilience and adaptability.
- Directs and oversees the department’s operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the CEO and senior leadership on operational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Facility management, making sure the facility meets all manufacturing and day to day operation requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a technical discipline, with a minimum a minimum of ten (10) years of manufacturing environment, with at least (5) five years in development of starting & managing multiple shift environments, including welding, machining, assembly, testing and packaging & shipping area.
- Must be hands on, detailed oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Suite of products. Our current shop control system is Job-Boss and having knowledge of this is a plus.
- Candidate must have a strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, and how to utilize them to obtain optimum efficiencies and Microsoft Excel experience.
- Able to analyze information gathered, in order, to identify, potential problems and discrepancies. As well as the ability to resolve such issues effectively and timely.
- Ability to work in both an Office or Plant environment with occasional exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold or chemicals.
- High Degree/Sense of Urgency is required along with prioritization and self-accountability.
- Become the process expert. Contact for manufacturing, regarding equipment and process issues including, but not limited to, equipment downtime, safety and production of conforming product.
- Problem Solving Skills: Ability to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in the production line.
- Must have a strong technical background and have a general understanding of the function and operation of fabricating equipment. Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Must be team oriented and have excellent communication, organizational, and strong computer skills. Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s license.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the office, located in Barberton, Ohio.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be insured.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background screen, at pre-employment, and ongoing during employment.
