Introduction:
We are a small locally owned Solar Design and Installation company. Our dynamic company needs an energetic, motivated Project Manager to provide support to our grid-tied division. We are looking for a talented and experienced employee with excellent communication skills who can manage a project from start to finish.
Reports to: General Manager
As a Grid-Tied Solar Project Manager, you will coordinate all post-contract technical aspects of the project including: permitting, technical project development, site analysis, safety planning, crew and subcontractor scheduling, inspections, as-built drawings, monitoring/commissioning work and project close-out.
Qualifications:
- Possess technical experience in the PV and electrical industry:
- Knowledge of PV products, the NEC and PV technology in general
- Experience with battery energy storage system designs
- Direct solar installation and job site experience
- Project management and/or crew leadership experience
- Currently possess or be on the path towards or be willing to pursue various certifications: NABCEP, OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR/AED, etc.
- Good working knowledge of standard utility processes for interconnection approval and design requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of related business experience required designing and managing solar projects
- Experience reading and understanding technical specifications and construction documents
- Strong phone and customer service skills
- Applicant must be ready to own (and improve) the project flow
- Some sales experience
Duties:
- This position coordinates all post-contract technical aspects of the project including: permitting, technical project development, safety planning, crew and subcontractor scheduling, inspections, as-built drawings, monitoring/commissioning work and project close-out.
- You will be the main point of contact with homeowners, GCs, AHJs, subcontractors and installation crew.
- Work with site visit analyst to assess and gather essential data, evaluate potential project risks, and identify opportunities for project optimization. Analyze customer needs to determine appropriate solutions for complex technical issues.
- Conduct thorough technical assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield predictions for proposed solar PV projects to ensure optimal system performance
- Work closely with regulatory bodies and local authorities to ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and permitting requirements for PV projects.
- After a design review, modify drawings and deliverables as needed.
- Educate crew members, thoroughly communicate and resolve issues in all aspects of project workflow including (but not limited to); development, installation, product and other warranties, timelines, documentation, scheduling, etc.
- Visit job sites for project development, installation progress, etc.
- Attend customer meetings and presentations throughout the sales cycle, if necessary.
- This position is 70% office and 30% field work, will vary (site visits as needed, staffing inspections, etc.).
- Sales as needed with initial leads generated by the company.
