DEFINITION: The Quality Improvement and Sustainability Coordinator is under the general direction of the County Superintendent of Schools or designee and is responsible for enhancing the quality and sustainability of the Mental Health Student Services Act (MHSSA) programs and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Oversee the sustainability efforts and projects related to the MHSSA grant. 2. Design and implement quality improvement projects focused on sustaining current student mental health services. 3. Research current mental health grant funding and facilitate the application process for Requests for Applications (RFAs). 4. Assist in researching and reviewing procedures related to billing to the Multi-Payer Fee Schedule as defined by the California Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI). 5. Ensure procedures are consistent with the goals of the MHSSA program and regulatory requirements. 6. Review and update procedures regularly to reflect changes in best practices and requirements. 7. Prepare and present data reports for meetings with TCSOS staff, stakeholders, LEAs, behavioral services, and other staff involved in sustaining mental health services. 8. Collaborate with mental health professionals to integrate evidence-based practices in successful QI projects. 9. Develop strategies to maintain and enhance the impact of successful QI projects. 10. Monitor and evaluate the long-term effectiveness of implemented changes. 11. Utilize data to identify areas needing improvement and track progress over time. 12. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to Medi-Cal and other health insurance billing for mental health services. 13. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address compliance issues. 14. Review budget proposals and monitor expenditures related to mental health grants and initiatives. 15. Ensure timely submission of reports to supervisor and collaborating agencies. 16. Attend training, conferences, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain job knowledge and skills. 17. Perform various administrative tasks as required, including preparing reports and correspondence, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, returning telephone calls, preparing mail, attending meetings, ordering supplies, etc. 18. Participation in collaborative meetings to update and improve system use and response. 19. Preparation and format of statements, reports, reconciliations, summaries, etc. 20. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: AA degree or equivalent experience, Experience with data input and medical or office billing is preferable, Experience working with mental health service providers and managed care plans is desirable.
LICENSE AND REQUIREMENTS: * Valid California driver’s license; when driving for work, maintain automobile liability insurance in accordance with California Insurance Code section 11580.1.
