Responsibilities

• Build a high-performing development team by being the catalyst for tangible results and guiding the team to achieve ambitious yet achievable goals. Through focused Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement coaching, you'll empower them with clear communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Empower the Product Owner for success by facilitating collaborative discussions and guiding the team toward achieving focused sprint goals, along with promoting teamwork during planning sessions and roadmap discussions.
• Elevate agility through transformative coaching that cultivates Focus, Openness, Respect, Courage, and Commitment values across all levels.
• Foster a collaborative and safe environment through open communication, respect, and shared ownership. Guiding the team towards collaborative problem-solving, where everyone feels valued and heard.

By the end of your first month, you will be expected to have developed a deep understanding of your team’s core products, be able to identify and remove impediments to the team’s progress, have led your team through a complete sprint cycle, and have completed comprehensive 1:1 meetings with team members to foster engagement and identify individual needs and communication styles.

By 60 days, you’ll be equipped and able to manage conflict resolution and facilitated discussions, implement a data-drive approach to track team improvement metrics, drive continuous improvement initiatives through focused retrospective activities, and work with your team to update their working together agreement.

After your first three months as a Scrum Master at Cogency, we expect you’ll have developed a solid understanding of all our services and products (not just your team’s) and have worked with your team to identify, implement, and measure improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• 4-year college degree or relevant professional experience
• Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certificate
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Agile development environment
• Proficient in MS Office
• Agile Expertise: Proven understanding of Scrum principles, practices, and ceremonies.
• Facilitation: Skilled at facilitating discussions and meetings.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Coaching: Ability to coach and mentor individual team members and the team.
• Problem-solving: Adept at identifying and resolving roadblocks and impediments.
• Organizational skills: Proficient in time management, organization, and prioritization.
• Conflict Resolution: Able to facilitate healthy conflict resolution and promote collaboration.
• Sprint Management: Skilled at using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time; M-F Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Salary: $85k-$105k (based on experience)
