Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to field incoming calls to the operations center from clients, officers, prospects, etc. This position is also responsible for communicating issues and needs to supervisory personnel.
*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Answer telephones with a clear, concise, and professional voice.
- Must be able to proficiently use a multiple-line phone
- Provide customer assistance for incoming calls.
- Type responses from incoming calls verbatim.
- Must be able to read and follow special instructions displayed for some accounts.
- Input account changes into the computer, as necessary.
- Work additional hours when necessary. - i.e. fill open shifts, etc.
- Assist in training new dispatchers.
- Handle high levels of stress and irate employees and customers.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with the internal/external customers (including, but not limited to: current customers, prospective customers, clients, vendors, co-workers, supervisors, and management) in a mutually respectful manner regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, and all other protected classes.
- Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly, and professionally in the performance of their jobs at all times as well as being in compliance with company policy and procedures as it relates to their job function.
- As this position develops, the employee may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management.
- Monitor alarms and dispatch officers as needed
- Monitor all CCTV cameras
- Dispatch security to any suspicious or unusual circumstances.
- Dispatch Emergency services in the case of fire, theft, shooting, robbery, accident, or other emergencies as they arise and notify the supervisors and clients.
- Perform daily roll calls for site check-ins
- Give out forms and pass out keys as shifts start
- Additional duties as they arise
- Assume responsibility for understanding and complying with Kates Detective & Security attendance expectations.
Position Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required for all Kates Detective & Security Agency positions.
- Three years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
- 911 Dispatch experience a PLUS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to type 25 wpm.
- Computer skills with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel, Access experience are required, as well as good Internet skills.
- Must be able to operate office equipment such as copier and fax machines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong customer service focus/skills are a must.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Must be capable of handling challenging and stressful situations without decreasing productivity.
- Must be able to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization and with external customers.
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the Organization.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must have a valid driver’s license /State ID
- . Must have a PERC Card.
- 20-Hour Security Training
- High School Diploma/Transcript or GED
Equipment/Software:
Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to personal computers, printers, scanners, and calculators. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
