CASINO SECURITY OFFICER
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide security
service for the Casino
• Conduct money, chip, drop box, and drop team
escorts for the Casino operation.
• Issue temporary licenses, access cards,
and temporary vendor ID cards as needed.
• Respond to emergencies as a Casino
Security Officer (CSO)
• Respond to Security calls, incidents, and
events
• Coordinate with the Casino Manager on duty regarding unruly,
disruptive, or guests exhibiting suspicious activities.
• Provide First Aid
response
• Stand at the Casino access point, determine access, and provide
information about the resort and Casino.
• Stand an access point post,
determine access, and direct traffic
• Communicate in clear understandable
English language by two-way radio, telephone, computer, and hard-copy written
information
• Record and disseminate appropriate information regarding
access
• Act on appropriate security issues from active observation and
through the use of the CCTV camera displays
• Review, check, and process
entering and exiting personnel for rule compliance
• Review, check, process,
and activate access controls involving locks, man-traps, and automated
gates
• Monitor, interact, and respond in a timely manner to the fire alarm
system electronic notifications
• Ensure guest and employee safety and
security
• Conduct investigations, when directed, and write clear, concise
reports
• Enforce company policies and procedures
• Ensure facility
security
• Engage in positive Guest and employee interactions, under all
types of conditions
• Provide and portray customer service and hospitality
through consistent demonstration of the ten essential attributes and the
Greenbrier Service Standards
• Ability to handle extremely stressful
situations
• Maintain professional calm demeanor during encounters with
guest, visitors, or employees
• Maintain professional (clean, neat)
appearance
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Conduct
periodic inspections of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Conduct foot and
vehicle formal fire-watch patrols utilizing electronic recording
devices
• Drive a department patrol vehicle on public and private, improved
and unimproved, roadways, trails, paths, including mountainous
terrain.
• Assist in Hotel security operations when directed.

Past Work Experience Requirements:
• Casino
Security service experience preferred
• Preference may be given current WV
Lottery Commission Occupational License Holders
• Demonstrated hospitality or
related experience
• Law enforcement/military and/or Firefighter/emergency
medical service experience preferred
Educational Requirements:
• High School Diploma
or G.E.D. required
Communication Skills Requirements:
• Ability to
effectively communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone/radio
• Report writing skills
Technical Requirements:
• Current certification
in a recognized basic first aid program or higher (Such as EMT), ie American Red
Cross, American Heart Association, WV RESA, etc.
• Current certification in a
recognized Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) program, ie American Red Cross,
American Heart Association, WV RESA, etc.
• Valid drivers license
• Must
attain American Hotel and Lodging Association Certified Lodging Security Officer
certification within 18 months of hiring, or an equivalent certification as
specified by the Director of Security.
• Must successfully attain a valid WV
Lottery Commission Gaming license to work in the Casino.
• Must achieve and
maintain all training and technical requirements as listed in this
EJF.
Required Supervision: (Reports to, Supervision
provided, number of people to supervise)
• Reports through chain of
command to Captain, Major, Manager of Fire & Safety, Director of
Security
• No direct supervision of subordinates
