The Senior Commercial Systems Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless functioning of commercial technologies and promotional platforms (e.g. BI; Salesforce.com; HubSpot, etc.) and the enablement of efficient commercial processes and operations. By aligning systems with commercial processes, and ensuring optimal performance, this role contributes significantly to the Sales, Marketing, Customer Service organization’s overall success and growth. This role is responsible for overseeing the implementation, integration, and optimization of various commercial systems and technologies within the organization and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and enhance efficiency across sales, marketing, customer service departments, BI, and IT. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, knowledge of the customer base and sales and marketing processes, campaign management initiatives and goals, and overall deep understanding of business processes and need for maintaining a strong customer database. What the Senior Commercial Systems Manager Does Each Day:
- Lead the implementation of commercial software systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Sales Force Automation (SFA) tools
- Work closely with vendors and internal IT teams to configure, customize, and deploy commercial systems tailored to the organization’s needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to design, implement and manage processes and programs to improve salesforce effectiveness and productivity
- Oversee the integration of commercial systems with existing applications and databases
- Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and security across all integrated systems.
- Ensures accurate customer data to make to make strategic decisions to ensure the achievements of strategic sales and organizational goals
- Develop and maintain data migration processes to facilitate the transfer of data between systems
- Monitor the performance of commercial systems, identifying areas for optimization and improvement
- Implement upgrades, patches, and enhancements to maintain system efficiency and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner, collaborating with IT support teams when necessary
- Facilitates successful implementation of new programs by ensuring a well-defined, efficient commercial process by identifying, proposing, and implementing automation solutions to ensure efficiency
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize their utilization of commercial systems
- Develop training materials and documentation to facilitate user adoption and understanding of system features
- Oversees the recommendation and delivery of field and corporate commercial systems training to all commercial and commercial support personnel
- Act as the point of contact for user inquiries, addressing system-related questions and issues promptly
- Customize commercial systems to align with specific business processes and requirements
- Design and implement workflow automation to streamline sales, marketing, and customer service processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workflow needs and translate them into system configurations
- Partners with senior sales leadership to identify opportunities for sales process improvement
- Collaborate with business intelligence teams to integrate commercial system data into comprehensive analytical tools
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive information stored within commercial systems

Minimum Requirements for this Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field required
- 7 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare services environment that utilizes CRM and sales and marketing automation software/platforms
- Experience in implementing and managing commercial systems, preferably in a similar industry
- Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and SFA platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Knowledge of data integration, customization, and workflow automation techniques
- Understanding of data security protocols and compliance requirements
