Creates and implements a wide variety of social media strategies, promoting Law Enforcement and other various Departments. Develops content for social media and broadcasting platforms. Creates, shoots and edits video features sharing news and information, educating the public on government operations and services. Manages the City’s public access channel. Assists with marketing and coordinating Law Enforcement community engagement events. Works as a liaison with local school public information staff to build on the relationship between youth and Law Enforcement. Assists with recruitment and retention campaigns. Designs and creates layouts for informational/administrative pamphlets or other publications, audio-visual materials, press releases, and displays. Prepares and disseminates public information materials including press releases, public service announcements videos, brochures, and reports. Monitors online conversations, engaging when appropriate. Analyzes and recommends platforms based on consumer trends. Tracks and measures social media statistics. Works with other City marketing staff. Confers with City/County departments concerning information objectives for their departments. Maintains a library of branding, marketing, and communications content and performs other duties as assigned.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college level course work in journalism, communications, marketing, emphasizing public relations, and information. Minimum three (3) years professional experience in journalism, broadcasting, videography, or marketing. Possession of a valid Nebraska Driver’s license.
