Essex Mortgage is hiring for our Loss Mitigation Specialist position to assist our Servicing Department! We are looking to bring on a friendly, self-motivated, team player who seeks the opportunity to grow and learn.

Job Summary:

The Senior Foreclosure Coordinator oversees the delinquent loan process through foreclosure, ensuring compliance with investor, company, and departmental standards. This role requires extensive experience in foreclosure procedures, with responsibility for coordinating states and processes in collaboration with internal and external partners.

Essential Duties:

• Initiate and oversee foreclosure referrals to designated legal counsel for eligible delinquent loans, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws as well as investor, insurer, and agency guidelines.

• Demonstrate proficiency in agency, investor, or insurer timelines and document requirements for both judicial and non-judicial foreclosures.

• Conduct thorough review and approval of legal documents, providing guidance and oversight to counsel on exceptions.

• Monitor attorney performance, ensuring timely response to issues and revision of legal documents.

• Proactively address outstanding requests and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication channels.

• Utilize reports and exception reporting to manage workflow efficiently and minimize risks.

• Identify trends or risks in foreclosure documents and promptly notify management of potential high-risk matters.

• Adhere strictly to departmental and business policies, prioritizing workload for timely and accurate resolution.

• Manage various inquiries/problems relative to the execution of foreclosure documents and diligently follow up on all outstanding requests and telephone calls.

• Knowledgeably manage agency, investor, or insurer timelines and document requirements for judicial and non-judicial foreclosures.

• Monitor foreclosure documents, identifying trends or risks associated with the portfolio.

• Complete all compliance training in a timely manner.

• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Five years of Foreclosure experience
• Bachelors or relevant experience in the field
• Ability to build rapport quickly to convert inquiries into proper transfers to departments/agents for resolution
• Ability to multitask and effectively manage time
• Ability to communicate effectively – both in verbal and written form
• Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Excellent organizational skills and strong work ethic
• Ability to remain professional even under strenuous situations
• Be able to empathize with a customer and take ownership of an issue

• Intermediate in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

REASONING and MENTAL ABILITIES

• Uses critical thinking skills to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and analytical reasoning to identify patterns in servicing

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

• Vision (with or without correction) sufficient to read a computer screen at 20 inches and to operate office equipment or a car
• Clear speaking on the telephone and in person; hearing within normal ranges in noise environments typical of office
• Able to sit for long periods of time at computer or other work station and in meetings
• Able to finger and feel in order to use equipment, computers and operate equipment
• Able to lift 10 pounds occasionally unassisted
