May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field. Being a Ship Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Cleveland-Cliffs, Cleveland Works has an immediate opening for an Engineer in the Quality Division.The following primary position responsibilities and key position requirements are intended to provide an overview of the position but are not all-inclusive.Cleveland Works produces hot roll steel as well as cold reduced galvanized and galvannealed coated products for automotive, appliance and other markets.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Entering steel routings into plant manufacturing systems
Quality Management Support including but not limited to SOP's, Corrective Actions and Measurement Devices
Cross functional team participation within the Cleveland plant
Customer support for slab customers
Working with other quality groups with Cleveland-Cliffs.
Data analysis for product capability
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem solving and leadership abilities
Solid computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
2 years experience in Manufacturing Environment
Good typing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science
5 years related experience
Quality Management Systems experience
Experience working in a unionized environment
