Shipping and Receiving Supervisor supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Shipping and Receiving Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Thorough knowledge of the team processes. Responsible for all functions within the Receiving Department. Performs variety of tasks which relate to the receiving (electronically and physically), put away, delivery, and/or shipping of Hospital or off-site supplies, equipment, and/or recording of services. Able to read, write, follow, and communicate oral and written instructions in English, comply with procedures and policies, and perform simple arithmetic calculations. Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule that requires weekends, nights, holidays, and/or overtime as required.
