Shop Supervisor Position

Overview:

We are an electrical power equipment company seeking a dedicated Shop Supervisor to manage daily operations. This role involves supervising staff, managing equipment, maintaining efficiency, and enforcing safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and train staff
• Create and manage schedules for staff and maintenance
• Oversee operations to identify and address issues
• Enforce safety regulations
• Conduct staff performance reviews
• Provide feedback to management for work optimization
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment
• Monitor and replenish inventory
• Perform administrative tasks (e.g., updating equipment orders, stock receipts, and schedules)
  
  

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum of one year's experience as a shop foreman or similar role
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Knowledge of work optimization techniques
• Understanding of safety regulations and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work long hours and overtime if needed
  
  

Additional Skills (Preferred, Not Required):

• Welding and metal fabrication
• Electrical knowledge
• Mechanical equipment repair
• Transformer and circuit breaker testing and repair
  
  

Primary Skills (3-4 preferred):

• Experience leading 10 technicians/skilled workers
• Organizing, allocating, and monitoring resources in a fast-paced environment
• Developing and improving processes
• Monitoring and enforcing company policies
• Administering positive reinforcement and discipline
  
  

Secondary Skills (Preferred):

• Background in medium or high voltage equipment or service work
• Electrical or mechanical engineering experience
• Ability to read electrical drawings
• Proficiency in industrial or field skills (e.g., rigging, crane operation, welding, CDL/trucking)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
