Six Sigma Quality Program Director plans, designs, and directs Six Sigma projects. Develops strategy and policies required to accomplish measurable business process improvements. Being a Six Sigma Quality Program Director employs Six Sigma/Lean methodology and analytics to re-engineer organizational operations. Works with other certified professionals in the planning, designing, and implementation of key projects. Additionally, Six Sigma Quality Program Director coaches and trains teams in the utilization and deployment of Six Sigma tools and principles. Requires Six Sigma certification as Black Belt. May require a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Six Sigma Quality Program Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Six Sigma Quality Program Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Please Note: Unless otherwise indicated in this summary, courses are delivered in a traditional face-to-face method on campus, not online. THIS IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION.

    The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants to draw from, as needed, for temporary assignments.

Our adjunct faculty instructors provide student-centered instruction on a course-by-course basis. Adjunct faculty serve as temporary part-time instructors hired to provide instruction, student advising, and student support to our students. Compensation for adjunct faculty is determined according to our current adjunct faculty per credit hour or equivalent rate.

    This instructor reports to the Dean, of Business and Workforce Solutions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan and teach courses which fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives.
    • Prepare a course syllabus, which includes course requirements, attendance requirements, and grading criteria.
    • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues
    • Adhere to class schedules. Meet attendance standards.
    • Remain current in practices, trends and research related to areas of specialization or assignment.
    • Employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
    • Identify and assess students who are in need of additional instruction to successfully complete the course objectives and provide additional instruction to those students as needed.
    • Check email or Blackboard for student rosters and other information as required.
    • Maintain confidentiality relating to student matters.
    • Participate in college, campus and department evaluation processes.
    • Attend adjunct faculty meetings as scheduled.
    • Interact constructively with resident faculty.
    • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market Gateway.
    • Comply with college policies and procedures and department guidelines.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's in Engineering or Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Advanced Manufacturing or Industrial Data Analytics PLUS at least 4,000 hours of paid, non-teaching documentable occupational experience,
    OR
    • Associate degree in Advanced Manufacturing or related field PLUS four years (8,000 hours) of occupational experience in Advanced Manufacturing
    OR
    • 14,000 hours of occupational experience in Advanced Manufacturing.
    PLUS
    • 3 years experience in leading lean Six Sigma projects in a manufacturing environment.
    Preferred
    • Lean Six Sigma certificate

    • Included in the above experience, at least 2,000 hours of demonstrated relevant occupational experience must be within the last five years OR at least 4,000 hours of full-time (8 semesters of part-time) post-secondary teaching experience in the occupational field must be within the last five years.

    • Working experience with computer software systems.
    • Ability to work with a diverse group of related students.
    • Skilled in teaching a wide range of related subjects.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Effective problem-solving skills.
    • Flexible schedule to accommodate day, evening, and weekend students.
