Small Engine Repair Technician –
The need: A skilled technician with the ability to maintain and repair small engine equipment to join our team in Alvin, TX. Regardless of professional experience, if you have the drive and ability to learn the technical skills, we will train you to be the best technician you can be.
-Responsibilities-
- Maintain neat and organized workspaces, storage areas, and general shop cleanliness
- Consistently create accurate parts requisition lists and required billable hours. Include all costs, time, and efforts required to complete services in question
- Return all completed tickets to management immediately so the customer may be contacted
- Inspect equipment’s mechanical and electrical components to accurately diagnose & Repair issues
- Conduct all routine maintenance work including fluid flushes/changes, carb cleaning/refurbishing, etc.
- Ensure all shop owned equipment and tools are returned to the proper place and stored safely.
- Advise management on issues with tools and equipment specifically regarding inoperative or unsafe conditions. Report on this daily if necessary
-Preferred Skills & Qualifications-
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or certification from vocational school/apprenticeship completion preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience in small engine repair or related repair field is preferred
- Valid Driver’s License & Ability to work within the U.S. without sponsorship
- Ability to handle all tools and equipment required to complete repairs as dispatched
- Good physical condition as job requires kneeling, crawling, reaching, working prone, and having to lift and/or carry tools and parts various distances
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and a safe and clean work environment, and arrive on time and presentable
- Wear all proper PPE as required including closed toe shoes, gloves, and eye protection
- Willingness to abide by all precautions, regulations, and safety protections when dealing with dangerous chemicals and hazardous equipment
-Physical Requirements-
There is some lifting (up to 100 lbs.) involved with this position, and prolonged periods of standing, sitting, kneeling, and otherwise irregular positions may be required to complete repairs and diagnostics. Regular use of the telephone may be required.
