Position Summary: 

The Small Engine Mechanic at Pine Lake Nursery & Landscape is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of small engines and landscaping equipment, ensuring that all tools are in optimal working condition. This role requires expertise in diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routing maintenance, and executing necessary repairs. The mechanic will play a crucial role in supporting our operations by keeping our equipment reliable, safe, and compliant with company standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair small engines and power equipment, including, but not limited to, lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug replacements and blade sharpening. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely and efficient manner. 
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed. 
• Ensure all equipment is safe, reliable, and in compliance with company standards. 
• Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for repairs. 
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure equipment is available and in good working condition when needed. 
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace. 

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or similar role.
• Knowledge of small engine repair, including 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. 
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. 
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and parts ordering. 
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Certification in small engine repair is a plus.
