SOCIAL MEDIA & DIGITAL MARKETING INTERN (REMOTE)

BASIC FUNCTION The Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting the Associate Director of Digital Media & Communications in implementing AKPsi’s overall social media marketing plan to align communications with the goals of the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Support the Associate Director of Digital Media & Communication to refine social media strategies and best practices • Assist in managing social media channels (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, YouTube) and the content calendar to ensure digital content is timely, relevant, and engaging • Prepare weekly updates and reports to track growth and success rates of social media campaigns • Assist in developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns and use analytics to track performance • Stay informed on new social media trends and adapt accordingly • Assist in the creation and design of social media content such as graphics, ads, and videos • Ensure all messaging adheres to brand standards • Assist with overall copywriting, proofing and updating as needed • Other communications tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS • A bachelor’s degree (or currently enrolled student) in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field • An understanding of social media platforms and how to optimize content • Experience with social media management tools a plus (e.g., Hootsuite) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products • Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) • Video editing experience is preferred • Canva experience • Ability to work effectively as a remote employee, both independently and as part of a team • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills • Be available for at least 10-15 hours a week • Involvement in Greek life is a plus • Access to a computer with a strong internet connection is required
