Position: North Central District Health Department has an opportunity for a full-time Social Media Specialist. This is a non-exempt, contract position reporting to the Public Information Officer. The salary range for this position is $19.15-$23.81 hourly, $37,342.00-$46,429.50 annually with a work week of 37.5 hours.
Some of the responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
· Maintain, develop, and optimize NCDHD existing social media across several different platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and more, and establish a new presence on emerging platforms.
· Monitor and proactively increase social media traffic, growth, and engagement across all brands (NCDHD, HANDS, etc.) through impactful posts and video content.
· Create and review new content – including photos, posts, and videos – and establish social media campaigns across multiple platforms to meet growth targets.
· Transform key data into actionable insights to help NCDHD grow its presence in the communities it serves.
· Provide support for editor and commercial decisions.
· Provide support for the Public Information Officer with internal and external communications, when necessary.
· Provide support for the Community Health Education Team with promotion of events and different educational themes.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience: Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing or Media Related field and 1 year of journalism experience or public relations experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point, Publisher and graphics design techniques and technology to produce any informational materials for public distribution in a printed or electronic form. Sound knowledge of key tools including Facebook Business and Ads Manager, Google Analytics, etc. is a must. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

High School Diploma and 6 years of journalism experience, professional content curations and social media marketing experience.
