The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to join our Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering organization located in Everett, WA. (Puget Sound)
The selected candidate will help design, certify & support commercial airplanes by applying state-of-art reliability and maintainability engineering design, modeling and analysis principles. R&M Engineering is a key functional discipline that supports the airplane development for optimal performance, lifecycle economics & compliance to safety and airworthiness requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
• Use modeling, simulation and data analytics methodologies & tools including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
• Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
• Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance cost.
Provide support in the following areas:
• Design for Reliability & Safety (airplane and system design reliability requirements validation & verification, reliability requirements allocation to suppliers, failure modes, rates, effects, propagation and detection analysis, architecture & operational provisions, safety & certification analysis, certification support, reliability & durability testing).
• Interaction with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management is typical, as is a high level of communication between the rest of the R&M Engineering internal organization, program teams, and functional design areas. Team involvement and individual effort, problem solving, and managing multiple actions and assignments will be regular duties for an R&M engineer.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
• Bachelor's of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
• 8 or more years' related work experience in the reliability engineering field
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with propulsion or airplane systems
• Reliability engineering experience.
• Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) experience.
• Commercial Airplane Certification experience.
