Special Investigations Unit Director oversees the operations for conducting thorough investigations. Develops the strategies for the cross-functional detection and elimination of fraudulent behavior. Being a Special Investigations Unit Director prepares investigative reports and analyses that pertinent to evidence obtained during investigations. May coordinate with outside sources such as law enforcement agencies, and external audit, etc. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Special Investigations Unit Director typically reports to top management. The Special Investigations Unit Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Special Investigations Unit Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Snapshot

    The Director of CRU reports to the Crisis Center Senior Director. This position operates in a 24-hour crisis center environment. The ideal Director will manage all operations of the program including budget, procedures, and communications to staff from the management team meetings. This person will create a culture of helpfulness and innovation, while reinforcing a team culture that is positive, accountable, and responsive to the needs of people and the community.

    Day in the Life

    • Coordinate services with Community Mental Health provider networks
    • Be a key leader within Common Ground and the community
    • Focus on continual refinement of operational processes within the program

    • Participate in management committees and prepare various reports

    • Maintain expenditures within the current operating budget


    What You Need to Apply

    • Master's Degree in a Human Services field preferred; Bachelor's Degree Required
    • Licensed in the state of Michigan as an RN
    • Previous supervisory and administrative positions with the ability to demonstrate leadership skills
    • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in an inpatient psychiatric or crisis residential setting
