Specialty and Metal Sprayer operates thermal spray. Prepares, masks, and applies metal spray coatings to rebuild parts. Being a Specialty and Metal Sprayer has basic coating skills, masking procedures, measuring skills and able to follow metal spray equipment operation guidelines. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Specialty and Metal Sprayer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. POSITION SUMMARY:
The service technician is responsible for the repairs, maintenance, and installation of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation equipment, piping, and controls sold or serviced by the company.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent.
Field experience as a service technician.
Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
Experience in refrigeration pipefitting and installation.
Factory service school training.
Experience troubleshooting controls and electronics.

HOURS:
Someone is available in the office to answer questions from 7:15 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The service technician coordinator is on duty from 7:15 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and will schedule all calls during regular working hours. Do not schedule your own time unless you have first cleared it with the service technician coordinator. Never promise a customer you will return at a certain time until you have first cleared it with the service technician coordinator. Saturdays, Sundays, evenings and holidays will be assigned according to the “On Call” schedule.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Completion of necessary repairs in a professional manner to the best of his/her ability.
2. To dress professionally: Neat, clean, and in uniform as required by weather.
3. To assume responsibility for his/her truck appearance and mechanical maintenance.
4. To keep records, invoice and/or collect C.O.D. payments from customers, and fill out warranty information as necessary.
5. To ask for help if problem cannot be found within a reasonable length of time (usually one hour) after arrival.
6. To report to service technician coordinator upon completion of each job and at the beginning and end of each day and to notify the service technician coordinator of parts needed for completion of jobs.
7. To report to the service technician coordinator when you will be late for work or when you are not able to report to work.
8. To maintain a truck stock of repair parts, return defective warranty parts to the shop, and restock these parts when used.
9. To be available for after-hours emergency service as scheduled.
10. To fill out service tickets with all available information while on the job.
a. List parts used, equipment fault, customer name and address, equipment model and serial numbers, time spent on job, etc.
11. To discuss repair work with the customer and receive written authorization to proceed and/or the customer signature at completion. If the customer is not at home when you are finished with the job, please note on signature line.
12. After the performance of routine maintenance or a service call, notify the customer and service manager of additional repairs which may be needed to keep the equipment in top operating condition to prevent future breakdowns.
13. Notify the owner if equipment is unsafe to operate.
14. Follow through on problem jobs.
15. Always work in a safe manner. Be completely familiar with all aspects of the Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as all OSHA regulations.
