Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a nursing home or long term care setting. Conducts patient evaluation of speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating and counseling the patient. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home documents assessment and patient progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Ensures that treatment aligns with patient needs and is within the parameters set by the payer. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and may require a state license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Speech Easy, Speech & Language Therapy, Inc. is currently hiring Speech and Language Pathologists and Speech And Language Pathologist Assistants to provide Early Intervention (birth-36 months) via in-home speech therapy services.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct developmental assessments
· Utilize evidence-based practice to provide speech therapy services in the child’s natural environments (daycare, home, community settings)
· Follow the child’s Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and collaborate with other professionals working with the family
· Complete progress reports
· Coach family members and other caregivers in the child’s natural environments (daycare, home, community settings) to utilize different intervention strategies for active involvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
· California state SLP license
· ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)
· Own transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum of 6 months full time or 1-year part-time experience with Early Intervention population (birth-36 months)
