Clover Leaf is looking for a Cyber Security Technical Writer to join our growing team in Amarillo, TX. We are looking for people who can work as part of a team and individually.

Responsibilities: As a Technical Writer Specialist within the Information Systems & Services (IS&S) Cyber Security Organization, you will play a critical role in documenting cyber security policies, procedures, and authorization documentation across various network and operating environments. Key responsibilities include:

• Clearly presenting administrative, technical, and operational information through written documents, diagrams, and charts.
• Coordinating and ensuring the proper documentation of technical requirements within the broader site security efforts.
• Reviewing and analyzing planned projects for their impact on cyber security policies and procedures.
• Evaluating cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risks and effectively communicating them through written policies and procedures.
• Researching and documenting security best practices for devices, applications, and emerging technologies.
• Evaluating compliance with organizational security policies and proposing areas of improvement.

Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications (e.g., SANS Training, CISSP, or other security certifications) will be considered. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

Knowledge and/or Training Requirements: Formal training or demonstrated knowledge of cyber security is mandatory. Strong technical computing expertise, including knowledge of security controls for networks, systems, databases, and enterprise applications, is required. Familiarity with system life cycle methodologies, risk management, and configuration management is essential. Experience with integrating new information technology into existing infrastructures is desired, along with knowledge of DOE/NNSA cyber security policies and their implementation.

Desired Skills/Experience Include:

• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity protection standards and baselines (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800 series Special Publications, DoD STIGs, CNSSI 1253, DOE SD 205.1, DOE O 205.1).
• Ability to develop and update cybersecurity policy documents, system security plans, baselines, and threat models for deployment and risk acceptance decisions.
• Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively with end users and operations personnel in a service-oriented environment.
• Understanding of networking technologies and protocols.
