The Staff Accountant position will support general activity across our AP and AR functions with great opportunity for growth across full-cycle accounting activities. Additionally, the position will support our Accounting Manager in running the monthly close process. This is an in-office position based at our Fargo, ND headquarters.
Roles And Responsibilities- Calculate and process semi-monthly payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations
- Prepare and remit payroll tax deposits and filings, including 941 quarterly returns
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding pay
- Prepare yearly W-2 forms and other annual reporting requirements
- Assist with year-end audits of payroll data
- Keep updated on changes to payroll regulations and tax laws
- Handle other ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
- Expertise with payroll software and systems
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping software
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills
