Candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation, will be preferred for this Staff Accountant position. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Based in the Aurora, Nebraska area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
- In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
- Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
- Take part in various department-wide initiatives
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
- Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
- Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- 1 years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Cash management experience highly desired
- Foundational knowledge in Monthly Financial Statements
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations
- Journal entries experience
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
