We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, along with excellent analytical and communication skills. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in various financial activities, including preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Generate and distribute timely and accurate financial reports to management.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
General Ledger Maintenance:
Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
Maintain and update the chart of accounts as needed.
Account Reconciliation:
Conduct regular reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Investigate and resolve any variances or issues in a timely manner.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate and relevant financial information.
Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary data for budget preparation.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
Assist in managing accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
Expense Management:
Monitor and analyze company expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Reconcile and review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct various financial analyses to support decision-making processes.
Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
