Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology provides professional nursing care to assigned oncology patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications including chemotherapy, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology assists oncologists during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology teaches patients and families about conditions and treatment options. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require ONS/ONCC certification to deliver chemotherapy. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Oncology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. JOB SUMMARY
The role encompasses the management of medical/surgical patient care through implementation of the nursing process, supervision of licensed and unlicensed personnel, and coordination of interdisciplinary care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: None.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage/prioritize/delegate patient care and complete work assignments and other duties, as assigned.
License and Certifications: Current nursing license, state of California, American Heart Association (AHA) BLS. For Oncology unit, San Antonio chemotherapy course and competency required within 6 months of hire/transfer into the unit followed by ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy course completed at 18 months.

PAY RANGE
$44.48 - $66.72
