Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care provides professional nursing care to assigned pediatric patients in a home care environment. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient home care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care performs examinations and prescribed procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care promotes patients' independence by teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a valid state RN license. Staff Nurse - RN - Pediatrics - Home Care's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     What you'll be doing…

    Our Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses work in our clients' home providing skilled medical care. Schedules are based on the client and the family needs. No two clients are alike. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Complete assessments, medication administration, and provide therapies, treatments, and interventions as scheduled in accordance with the plan of care and physician’s orders.
    • Partner with all members of the interdisciplinary team including the family, ensuring a constant flow of communication regarding the client’s cares, changes in condition, developmental goals, etc.
    • Provide support and education to clients and families to help them be successful.
    • Build rapport and trust with clients, families or other caregivers, the office team, and peers to facilitate effective communication and build relationships.
    • Complete timely charting through our electronic medical record system.
    • Keep up to date with the client’s plan of care, changes in conditions, physician’s orders, family, or caregiver requests, etc.
    • Advocate for the client and family to promote and support growth and development.
    • Examples of some of our nursing cares include gastrostomy tubes, jejunostomy tubes, nasogastric tubes, PICCs, PORTs, tracheostomies, seizure disorders, etc.

    What’s required?

    • Active Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure, without restrictions
    • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance coverage
    • CPR certification required but may be obtained after hire
    • COVID-19 vaccine compliance
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
