In addition, part-time nurses may be requested to work outside of their scheduled days to assist with coverage.

The shifts in each program are outlined below:

    Compensation

The successful candidate(s) will be offered a base rate based on post-licensure experience.
    • The starting hourly rate for newly-licensed registered nurses is $33.00. The exact starting rate for RNs at DBH is calculated using the starting rate 1% per year for each year of post-licensure experience up to 10 years and an additional 1% for each additional 3 years thereafter.
    • The starting hourly rate for newly-licensed Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) is $26.75 per hour with the same credited service as described above.

    PRN Rate

    • A nurse hired to work in a PRN capacity will receive a 15% adjustment to the base rate agreed upon at hire for all PRN shifts where he/she is given at least 24 hours of notice before the shift.
    • For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $33 would receive a PRN rate of $37.95 per hour.

    Emergency Rate

    • A PRN nurse called in to cover a shift with less than 24 hours of notice will be compensated at 1 ½ times their PRN rate.
    • For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $33 would receive an emergency rate of $56.93 per hour.
    • The emergency rate is used as a last resort and requires executive management approval.

    Shift Differentials

Nurses working during the graveyard shift (5:00 pm to 5:00 am) or any weekend shift (Saturday 12:00 am to Monday 12:00 am) will receive a 15% shift differential.
