Stationary Engineer operates, repairs, and maintains stationary equipment including boilers, generators, refrigeration, and turbines in buildings, plants or industrial facilities. Ensures that equipment is operating safely and within established limits. Being a Stationary Engineer conducts monitoring and failure analysis of meters, gauges and controls to determine the need for repair or replacement of parts. Performs preventative maintenance and documents completed procedures. Additionally, Stationary Engineer requires a high school diploma. Requires applicable Stationary Engineer's license for the state. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Stationary Engineer works under moderate supervision. Education- Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and, practical work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above.
Physical Requirements- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
