Being a Statistician works closely with other organizational groups to understand data and provide relevant, informative insights. Presents technical reports and findings to those groups. These services are in support of test planning, test execution, test support, test operations and associated logistics for a wide variety of systems across their life cycle, which include focus areas such as Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, Weapons Systems, and associated platforms utilized by the Expeditionary Warfare community. Secondary support areas include Sensors and Communications, Mobility Platforms, Systems Integration, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment with unique military applications; and other new or existing systems or systems of systems that require independent testing for Expeditionary Warfare.
Mandatory Skill Requirements (must have):
Statistical Analysis:
Experience in planning, collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data. Statistical analysis tasks to include: reviewing and analyzing data; developing advanced analytical methodologies; performing probability analysis; implementing classical and modern statistical methods and models; conducting analytical research and studies; applying optimization techniques; applying and reviewing statistical process techniques associated with production such as Statistical Process Control (SPC); preparing test and sampling plans; developing sampling plans that contain test cycles and recommended test method; developing, documenting, and improving processes; developing report and data formats; writing technical and analytical reports; preparing analytical methodology documents; performing mathematical and statistical modeling; predicting system and component performance and trends; performing binomial and variables data analysis; performing parametric analysis; performing trend analysis; performing stratification analysis; performing Pareto analysis; conducting data reduction and analysis in accordance with test plans; compiling raw data into appropriate numerical, graphical, or visual formats for reporting, presentation, and communication; developing and utilizing hardware and software to provide statistical/correlation studies; and other statistical analysis support tasks.
Simulation Analysis:
Experience with the following simulation types include but are not limited to stochastic simulation such as Monte Carlo analyses, finite element analyses, 3D simulation, operational simulation, computer simulation, training simulation, process simulation, physical simulation, and other simulation types.
Operational Analysis:
Experience in operational analysis in the areas of mathematical analysis; statistical analysis; developing plans; designing testing procedures; SOPs; data collection methodology and analysis; design of experiment; modeling; simulation; identification of appropriate problem-solving methodologies; understanding military operations; data envelopment analysis; system optimization; and other operational analysis tasks.
Mathematical Analysis:
Experience in mathematical analysis to include: mathematical optimization, development of mathematical models, model validation, computer simulation, data analysis, reporting, and other analysis. Types of mathematical models include: linear, non-linear, deterministic, probabilistic, static, dynamic, discrete, continuous, black box, white box, and other required models.
Desired Skill Requirements:
Education:
BS/MS in Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years in a related field.
