OFFICIAL TITLE: Storekeeper IV
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Facilities Planning & Support Services
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Storekeeper III and below as well as student employees.
General Statement of Duties: The Storekeeper IV is responsible for overseeing the general operation of Central Receiving & Stockroom which includes material/equipment ordering, stock maintenance and delivery, while ensuring customer service. This position requires a high level of organization, adherence to safety procedures and attention to detail while providing quality customer service to all campus constituents. This position includes ordering and maintaining custodial and academic/administrative department office stock as well as quality control and periodic reporting of inventory for same. The successful candidate must possess the ability to support a variety of campus-wide requests and the ability to effectively handle several projects simultaneously. Additionally, this position will need to correspond with end-user customers as part of planning and executing order and delivery requests. The Storekeeper IV position requires the use of multiple Microsoft Office software platforms as well as Colleague.

- (E) Responsible for custodial and office supply order management and budgetary tracking and control.

(E) Responsible for Central Receiving & Stockroom inventory control management.

Research and identify destinations for mislabeled packages.

(E) Investigate and resolve customer concerns regarding deliveries. Update processes as needed to improve service.

(E) Serves as freight delivery liaison which includes address delivery concerns and processing issues as well as scheduling.

(E) Responsible for timely approval and supervision of Stockroom staff and student/work study timesheets.

(E) Provide on-the-job training to department full-time and part-time employees.

(E) Coordinate scheduling to ensure accuracy, effective and efficient operations and compliance with established standards.

(E) Regularly meet with supervisor in order to provide information, improve business functions and resolve problems.

(E) Extensive use of spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), tracking software and other available software platforms to ensure that records are up-to-date for inventory and reporting purposes.

(E) Cross-support with other areas of Facilities Operation Support Services within the Facilities department, including but not limited to; Inventory Control, Mail Center and Environmental Health & Safety and Sustainability.

(E) Coordinate timely distribution of packages from Publications & Printing Services

(E) Coordinate back-scanning for vendor pickup.

(E) Serves as designated essential personnel; responds to weather and other emergency situations as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Must have (A) at least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment, and (B) least one year supervisory or administrative experience in storekeeping.

Ability to maintain accurate electronic records for reporting and other purposes.

Ability to understand and apply departmental and University policies, procedures, specifications, standards and guidelines governing assigned activities.

Knowledge of campus health and safety practices and procedures as applied to all Stockroom functions.

Knowledge of standard procedures, methods and materials used in packing materials for shipment.

Knowledge of various methods used in transporting goods, materials, and equipment including biohazard materials.

Knowledge of the methods, procedures, terminology, safety practices (including but not limited to chemical handling/transfer) required to perform job duties.

Knowledge of techniques used to operate and maintain Stockroom forklift and related equipment.

Knowledge of proper receipt and storage of materials requiring special storage considerations such as chemicals and medications.

Ability to communicate effectively as a supervisor, including planning and assigning work in accordance with department operations. Understand the capabilities of the subordinate staff and available resources, motivate subordinates to work effectively. Recommend disciplinary action when necessary.

Willingness to develop skills to utilize new technologies in daily operations.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle; possess valid Massachusetts driver's license.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment within the Facilities Department.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).

5 years of experience in a related field.

Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity.
-
Experience using computer applications.
-
Proficiency using technology including but not limited to MSOffice, email and corresponding electronic calendar and tracking software.

This is a grade 15, non-exempt, full-time (40 hours), benefited AFSCME position.
Bi-weekly salary is $1,969.30 (annual salary is $51,201.80).
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm. Days off are Saturday and Sunday.
