The Affton School District is seeking an educational professional with strong leadership abilities for the Activities Director position at Affton High School. The Activities Director provides coordination and leadership to ensure the effective and efficient development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive athletic and co-curricular activities program for students in accordance with state law, MSHSAA requirements and board policy. The Activities Director will provide visionary leadership for participation in interscholastic athletics and co-curricular activities for all students across the district. They will develop a climate of continuous improvement that fosters positive physical skills, leadership, and character as well as an understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of those activities.
DETAILS:
- 12-month position with district-recognized holidays, and 20 vacation days
- Minimum starting salary is $100,000/year, placement is determined by education and experience
- District provided benefits package that includes employee health, dental, life and vision insurance
- Employment contract begins 07/01/2024
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a master’s degree
- Requires Missouri Administrator Certification
- Requires Missouri Teaching Certification
- Requires a minimum of a minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher with preference provided to candidates with prior administrative or supervisory experience
- Requires knowledge of MSHSAA regulations governing activities
- Prefers candidates with successful coaching or sponsoring experience
- Prefers candidates with athletic administration affiliations and/or related professional development
- Requires skills as a connected/digital leader
- Requires the ability to listen well and take initiative to solve problems
- Requires strong organizational skills and self-motivation
- Requires the ability to work within a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural school setting with energy and enthusiasm
- Requires the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact positively with students, staff, administration, and the community
- Requires the ability to remain flexible & positive with the demands of the job without losing sight of the mission, task or assignment
- Requires the ability to work independently, use good judgment, think quickly & rationally, and respond to situations in a calm manner
