Basic Function: This LIVE IN position will have full responsibility for residence life and student activities. Weekend and night activities are a requirement for this position. Student advising is a requirement for this position.
Qualifications:
Required-Associate of Arts or Associate of Applied Science Degree
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and marketing skills.
Preferred- Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree
Experience in student services/residence life/student activities at the community college level
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Copies of all academic transcripts are required. Unofficial copies are acceptable at the time of application.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the planning, performance, and management of all services relating to residence life.
2. Administer the residence life process through software to include application, roommate assignments, billing, and correspondence.
3. Responsible for enforcement of rules and regulations in residence life.
4. Coordinate residence hall cleaning with external companies.
5. Assess with Maintenance staff in regards to residence hall damages and refund deposits.
6. Ensure that regular meetings of all resident students are held as needed each semester to explain the rules, procedures, residence hall policies, disseminate general information, and obtain suggestions from students to provide opportunities for all resident students to interact throughout the semester.
7. Manage the hiring, scheduling, training, and supervising of the resident assistants and College mascot.
8. Coordinate with staff the publication of the residence hall handbook and other related written materials.
9. Provide leadership in emergency and problem situations and communicate all concerns to Dean of Student Services through written incident reports, weekly meetings, and immediate oral communication when situation necessitates.
10. Advise current students with course options and program requirements. Assist in registering them for classes as necessary.
11. Identifies options for students to satisfy degree requirements.
12. Print identification cards for students and employees, as needed.
13. Documents all pertinent student information and updates in college software regarding changes to student status.
14. Organize and manage quality student activities for the campus.
15. Ensure the use of social media and other appropriate outlets are used to increase student awareness and engagement with college activities.
16. Create and distribute the monthly publication for student activities.
17. Attend college sponsored activities and oversee the event.
18. Prepare and administer budgets for residence life and student activities.
19. Work effectively within a team environment.
20. May serve on the Title IX campus committee. Work collaboratively with the Title IX Coordinators for employees and students to provide trainings for students and may be asked to attend annual training.
21. Promote and maintain open communication with all college constituents.
22. Participate in professional development activities that support the position.
23. Serve on various college committees and cross functional teams.
24. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
WAGE/SALARY RANGE: Annual salary including paid housing, utilities, internet, and use of college phone, meal plan (nontransferable).
