    Summary of Position: Responsible for overseeing the university’s Cat Trax program and providing administrative support to the university’s Student Governing Association.

    Department: Student Programs

    Status: Union Support Staff, full-time, non-exempt

    Supervisory Responsibility: Students only

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

    Pay range: $42,216-$46,437.60/year

    Supervised By: Director/Student Programs and Involvement

    Key Functions:

    Cat Trax-specific

    40%: Oversee all aspects of the university’s Cat Trax co-curricular student engagement program. Develop and facilitate programming to promote student understanding and utilization of Cat Trax, to include partnering with campus units, student organizations, and academic classes. Lead Cat Trax communication, marketing, and promotion opportunities. Develop, implement, and track assessment tools, analyze results, compile reports and present data to stakeholders.

    Student Governing Association-specific

    40%: Provide administrative support to the university’s Student Governing Association (SGA), to include but not limited to, event planning; file, organize, and maintain records and other documents; drafting correspondence; and assisting with special projects and initiatives. Oversee, monitor, and respond to the SGA-specific email account. Update and maintain content on the SGA website to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and engaging.

    Serve as a subject matter expert to committee(s) and association positions regarding expectations of SGA. Provide strategic guidance, problem-solving, evaluation and monitoring as necessary to ensure successful outcomes and fulfillment of SGA’s mandates. Identify, create, administer, or execute leadership development opportunities (trainings, workshops, resources). Advise committees and student leadership as assigned.

    Administer the university’s SafeRide late-night rideshare program for students, as instructed by SGA. Monitor program usage and track expenditures, ensuring fiscal responsibility. Schedule regular marketing promotions accordingly to fund program throughout the academic year. Report program outcomes to stakeholders.

    Student engagement-specific

    15%: Contribute as a member of the Week of Welcome planning committee and plan/facilitate designated department signature events and marketing opportunities. Work collaboratively with campus partners to support student programs and involvement. Represent the department in enrollment management efforts such as recruitment fairs, pipeline programming, university recruitment and admissions events, and other outreach initiatives as assigned.

    Departmental functions

    5%: Provide expertise, experiential knowledge, support, and guidance regarding SGA to stakeholders and the community. Hire, train, and supervise student staff. Assess performance of such. Serve as a member of internal and external committees. Furnish additional administrative and programmatic support to the department and Union. Remain current and competent by developing professional contacts with colleagues; seek out professional development opportunities, etc. Perform other duties as assigned and instructed.

    Qualification Requirements:

    Education – Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and six or more months of demonstrated experience; or
    • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

    Education – Preferred

    • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

    Experience – Minimum Demonstrated

    • Advising or working with students from a variety of social and economic backgrounds;
    • Ability to develop future community leaders;
    • Planning and executing events;
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

    Experience – Preferred Demonstrated

    • Work or volunteer experience in a college environment.
    • Demonstrated experience in public relations, marketing, and/or event planning, particularly in student activities.

    Skills and Abilities

    Work in a general office environment and event venues, to include outdoor settings. Remain seated/stand 40% of shift. Finger dexterity/movement for typing, picking up small objects and utilizing varying equipment. Hearing for average or normal conversations and to receive information. Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery. Verbal and written communication to present, convey and exchange information and ideas accurately and quickly. Move, transport and position equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. There are no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical conditions. Valid driver’s license. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key functions of this position.
