WHAT TO EXPECT AS A CU IN SCHOOL STUDENT TELLER
As a CU in School Student Teller, you'll actively engage with your student peers through providing financial education, answering questions, executing promotions, processing transactions, and serving as a credit union advocate. Student Tellers also participate in community events.
CU in School Student Tellers may earn an opportunity to serve members in one of our three branch locations (Battle Creek, Coldwater, Marshall). Student Tellers who work in-branch elevate their customer service skills and assist members with problem solving, product and service sales, as well as various account processes.
TRAINING
To efficiently process routine banking transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, checks, transfers, and loan payments, Student Tellers will receive paid training over the summer of their senior year. The training includes policies and procedures, product information, and how to cross-sell financial products and services to meet the current and future financial needs of our members.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A STUDENT TELLER
WORK SCHEDULE
During the summer leading up to senior year, Student Tellers are eligible to work Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with the occasional Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. During the school year, Student Tellers may earn the opportunity to work after school Monday - Friday from 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Student Tellers are also compensated for working promotional events, including but not limited to, Battle Jacks games, MHS sporting events, etc. All in-school service at the CU in School branch counts toward class credit and will be consider unpaid time.
