Surgeon - Burn examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients with burns from heat, cold, chemical, or electrical incidents. Performs escharectomy, skin grafting, and secondary burn surgery. Being a Surgeon - Burn reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Burn may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Our veterinary hospital is a 20,000 square foot facility that offers multiple modalities and emergency care. We employ over 70 full-time employees and are open seven days a week. Our specialists enjoy the four days a week schedule and perpetual referrals from within the hospital and from our community of referring veterinarians within the state.

    Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree or equivalent

    Board Certified or Board Eligible Veterinary Surgeon

    Ability to attain an Alaska Veterinary License
