Surgeon - Cardiothoracic jobs in Agoura Hills, CA
Surgeon - Cardiothoracic specializes in the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of patients with diseases of the heart and lungs. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Being a Surgeon - Cardiothoracic identifies need for tests or follow-up visits. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Cardiothoracic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. The Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine is recruiting an exceptional team-oriented procurement specialist for thoracic organs. Our dynamic Division of Cardiac Surgery is interested in individuals who can meet the rigorous quality and demands of a very busy and world-renown thoracic transplantation program.
Clinical responsibilities include surgical procurement of hearts, lungs, and heart lung blocks from deceased donors for transplantation. The ideal candidate should have experience in the areas of harvest, transplantation, myocardial protection, and determination of organ quality. Moreover, the successful candidate will assist with handling communication regarding the logistics of organ offers. The individual may also be involved in procurement for research and resuscitation of marginal organs.
This is a 12 month contracted role that may convert to career.
Salary Range: $78,800- $175,000
