Job Summary

The Dietitian is responsible to plan, organize and implement nutritional services to transplant candidates/transplant recipients and potential living donors/living donors, their caregivers, and staff to support and enhance the patient’s nutritional status. Responsible to assess nutritional needs and facilitate plans with patient/family for discharge and aftercare. Maintains contact with referring agencies and related people and with community resources used for referral. The Dietitian has primary responsibility for coordinating the nutritional needs of transplant candidates, recipients, and families, working with patients and their families beginning with the evaluation phase of transplantation, through the post-transplant phase of transplantation. The Dietitian provides services in a compassionate, culturally competent, and tactful manner. Works collaboratively with other members of the transplant team.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Dietetic Internship or similar Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved program required.
• One year of experience and advanced certifications in specialty are preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registrations

• Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or obtain registration within six months of hire date required.
• Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of South Dakota required. If not yet licensed, may work under a temp nutritionist permit up to one year, potential for multiple state licensure.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $23.75 - $36.00 per hour
