Surgeon - Pediatric examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats children from the newborn stage through late adolescence. Treats a wide variety of problems children may have, which may include appendicitis, hernias, cancer, or a serious congenital anomaly. Being a Surgeon - Pediatric reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Pediatric may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Job Summary: We are seeking a General Surgeon to join our team in Bentonville, Arkansas. The successful candidate will work 12-15 shifts per month, primarily providing inpatient care with post-surgical follow-ups seen in the clinic on our hospital campus. Experienced professionals and new graduates are both welcome to apply.
     
    Roles and Responsibilities:
     
    - Provide inpatient and post-surgical follow-up care
    - Diagnose and treat a variety of health issues and diseases
    - Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatments
    - Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatments
    - Respond to medical emergencies
    - Perform surgery as needed
    - Document patient care services
    - Adhere to all legal, ethical, and safety standards
     
    Qualifications:
     
    - MD or DO degree
    - Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery
    - Active and unrestricted license to practice in Arkansas
    - Ability to work 12-15 shifts per month
    - Level-3 Trauma certification (preferred)

    - Excellent communication skills

    - Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
    - Ability to multitask and prioritize
    - Attention to detail and accuracy
