Surgery Scheduler jobs in Tavares, FL

The Surgery Scheduler position is responsible for coordinating necessary surgeries with the patient families, Nemours surgeons, internal and external operating rooms, Surgery Centers, etc. to ensure the patients are appropriately scheduled for surgeries and/or outpatient procedures. 

Position Responsibilities 

• Coordinates the clinic and surgery schedules for the providers to ensure there are no conflicts. 
• Coordinates surgery schedule with internal and external operating rooms and Surgery Centers.
• Submits surgical clearances for the purpose of patient scheduling into the OR.
• Submits all information to the pre-certification team to ensure the insurance will cover the surgical costs.
• Acts as the family’s liaison between the surgical locations and provider staff to ensure all education, authorizations and post op appointments are handled appropriately.
• Schedules outpatient ancillary procedures and testing for families.
• Ensures that all necessary information required by the surgical facilities is included in the surgery order.
• Acts as a communication liaison between Nemours surgeons and the surgical facilities, pre-certification, and others to clarify questions surrounding a patient’s case. 

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Minimum of six (6) months previous surgery scheduling experience required.
