We are currently looking for an experienced Full Time Medical Assistant for our practice. Must have availability Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Open and prepare rooms for clinic
• Prepare for patients per daily schedule.
• Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures, including wound care and surgery follow-up visits
• Prepare patients for exams: medical history, vitals, meaningful use, med and allergy changes and document in electronic medical record
• Radiology authorizations and orders; order tracking
• Call and /or submit prescription requests to pharmacy
• Collect lab specimens and route to appropriate lab.
• Schedule medical tests, order labs and surgery clearance
• Clean/Sterilize instruments

Flex and Back-Up Responsibilities:

• Surgery scheduling
• Available to fill in/help out in other offices if needed
• Answer phones when needed.
• Enter patient history on new patients.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR Certification
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably minimum one year
• Thorough understanding of medical terminology
• Ability to work with clinical staff
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Superior patient interaction skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
