Products include digital and analog radio/audio management systems, Tac/Com, VHF/UHF radio systems, intercoms, data interface accessories, and aural warning.
We seek dynamic systems thinkers who could be integral team members for our high-tech avionics products and Agile/Digital Thread design processes.
Here are examples of what you will be doing:
You will challenge the status quo for how we do Systems Engineering. Like many Aerospace and Defense companies, we grew up in a waterfall/stage-gate process and standard V-Model. We know rigid strategies will not work in the dynamic, global environment we have now. We have developed and will continue to develop Agile philosophies in our design factory.
Every team member is encouraged to challenge the way we do business. We use continuous improvement to drive productivity, allowing more focus on core design tasks. This is key if you value defining your own future and creating new opportunities.
You will help us engage new and adjacent markets through our technical roadmap. We strive to maintain a critical balance between sustaining and upgrading existing product families. The Systems Team works closely with other departments and customers with a defined R&D focus and discipline on how new technologies can be continually introduced to resolve emerging market challenges and add value to our customers.
You will do actual design work. First and foremost, we want to be design engineers doing design work. This means applying creativity and continuous improvement to ensure we do actual design work, not bureaucratic paperwork. In Systems Engineering, this is done through Model-Based Engineering, simulations, tests, and prototype development. Throughout the agile design process, incorporate the traditional Systems Engineering deliverables.
You will learn how to fly. In our Canyon Advanced Systems Integration Lab (CASIL), we strive to “test it like we fly it”. This means Systems Engineering puts every product through real-world situations for testing. Systems Engineering ensures aviation and avionics knowledge is developed throughout the company.
You will grow to be a leader. Our Systems Engineers at all levels are technical leaders seeking to lead collaboration in cross-functional departments.
You will grow domain knowledge and best practices to pass this knowledge on to the next generation of engineers.
Who you are:
You have perspective. You have the background to delve into the design details and understand how design choices and architecture can affect the overall success of a product.
You have depth. You are a subject matter expert in an engineering area that will complement our multi-disciplinary team
You have breadth. You are a positive team player who can communicate complex technical material to any audience.
You are creative. You are curious and able to bring new and multiple design solutions to the design team
You are brave. You boldly seek new challenges and do not shy away from exploring unknown new technologies.
You drive to solutions. You thrive in a culture that is self-motivated and embraces working toward commitments
Skills and knowledge that will set you apart:
