Summary/Objective

Shaw Systems is a national software development company that has an established record of solid financial performance and an excellent reputation for providing quality products. We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Network Systems Administrator for our Enterprise Operations team. 

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the organization's IT infrastructure including hardware and software maintenance, upgrades, and implementations of new technologies.
• Monitoring and enhancing the security of Shaw’s environments (SaaS and on-prem).
• Evaluating and automating the scaling and capacity requirements within environments.
• Provision new user accounts and provide orientation to new users regarding IT policies, prodcedures, and systems.
• Troubleshooting and technical issue resolution reported by end-users: performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, network problems, etc. 
• Providing technical support for hardware-related issues.
• User Account Administration/Active Directory: Maintain and administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within AD and Azure AD.
• Manage Office 365 user accounts, licenses, and configurations. 
• Ensure security protocols and policies are enforced across sytems. 
• Monitor and manage patching processes for servers and endpoints.
• Configure, monitor, and maintain Wireless Access Points and Fortigate applications. 
• Document procedures, create knowedlge base articles, and conduct training for end-users. 
• Assist with management and maintenance of Azure cloud environments
• Support Azure infrastructure deployments, configurations, and migrations.
  
• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure services to identify and resolve issues promptly. 
• Participate in implementing security best practices, including access controls, data encryption, and compliance measures. 
• Aid in the development and execution of disaster recovery and backup strategies for Azure resources. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and ongoing operations on the Azure platform. 
• Assist in creating and maintainng technical documentation related to Enterprise Operations infrastructure and processes. 

Requirements

• Strong understanding and experience in Systems Administration (SaaS/Cloud and On-prem)
• Understanding of Azure Cloud environments and hands-on experience supporting the management and maintenance of Azure infrastructure. 
• Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration and patching.
  
• Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP.
• Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.
  
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting.
• Basic understanding of scripting would be helpful to include PowerShell. 
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks and reporting updates to management. 

Education/Experience (Desireable) 

• Bachelor's Degree majoring in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in systems administration for cloud and on-prem environments.
• MS Azure Certification(s) related to AZ-104, AZ-900, and AZ-800. 

Location

This position may work from any of the following locations:  Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston, TX or Richmond, VA office.  Remote with the ability to travel at least 5% from the following states:  Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia if more than 75 miles from the office location, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah.

None. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.  The daily schedule may vary from 7 am – 4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required.  Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business.

Travel

Limited travel (up to 10%) is expected for this position.
