What we are looking for:

Striking Distance Studios is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to enhance our IT & Security team This vital role involves collaboration with game studio production and operation teams to ensure the robustness and security of our cloud infrastructure while supporting a range of IT & Security operations The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical acumen, a dedication to high security and operational standards, and a zeal for innovation within the gaming landscape. This is a 1099 contract role.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for IT and Security within the studio
• Formulate and enforce IT & Security standards to maintain uniformity and safety across all studio systems
• Collaborate with production teams to weave IT & Security best practices into their workflows
• Manage and optimize IT & Security tools, with a focus on incident management, provisioning, and access management
• Lead security initiatives including system hardening, timely patching, and thorough vulnerability assessments
• Regularly update and create detailed documentation to bolster IT & Security protocols
• Conduct comprehensive onboarding sessions for new employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the studio
• Administer Zoom rooms and handle audio/video conferencing setups

Qualifications:

• Over 5 years of Information Technology experience, with a significant emphasis on security practices
• Proficiency in Jira and Confluence to support project management and documentation workflows, ensuring efficient collaboration across teams
• Experience with Workspace One for unified endpoint management, facilitating secure and flexible access to studio resources
• Skilled in Active Directory and Okta for robust identity and access management, enhancing our security posture through controlled access to systems and applications
• Knowledge of Zoom Admin tools to maintain reliable and secure communication channels studio-wide
• Familiarity with Unreal and Perforce to support our game development processes with the necessary tools for version control and real-time collaboration
• Understanding of data center management and Windows 11/Server environments, ensuring the stability and security of our backend infrastructure
• At least 1 year of experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, etc), with a focus on designing secure hybrid cloud systems
• Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects, with strong problem-solving skills and creative solution-finding in a dynamic setting
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to lift over 50 lbs
• Passion for the gaming industry, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in IT & Security

Preferred Certifications:

• Cloud Certification
• CompTIA Security Certification
• MSCE
• Okta Certified Professional

In California, the expected hourly range for this position is $38.00-$50.00/hr. The listed expected range represents a good faith estimate and the actual pay may depend on a variety of job-related factors that can include experience, education, skills, and location.
