Actalent is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer for a company that provides sensors, controls, sub-systems and mission critical components to various industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Industrial, & Power. Position offers a flexible work schedule (hybrid), as well as full time benefits.

Description:

• Will develop electromechanical and hydromechanical actuation design solutions for commercial and defense related aircraft flight control and utility actuation applications.
• You will also develop system architectures for integrated actuation sub-systems, and generate associated schematics, diagrams and descriptions to support contracted programs and new business proposals.
• You will design and analyze servocontrol systems to achieve target response and stability characteristics.
• In addition you will develop simulation models of actuation components and integrated systems using MATLAB/Simulink, and use models to demonstrate system control and dynamic response characteristics to support the design, integration, and certification of the equipment.
• Work within product development teams to support equipment mechanical and electronic design and development from initial proposal through qualification phase
• Develop system architecture definitions based on required system functionality and performance and select and specify required components
• Design control systems using Matlab/Simulink and other tools to achieve target target response and stability characteristics
• Develop and execute high fidelity actuation system simulation models using Matlab/Simulink to predict integrated system response dynamics and operating performance
• Provide system support to component supplier and customer technical interchange meetings and milestone design reviews during the design/development process including Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 6 years of experience in systems engineering and/or related tasks within electrical, mechanical and embedded systems
• Strong skills working with MATLAB/Simulink predict integrated system response dynamics and operating performance
• Strong preference to have worked on control system design and simulation modeling of electromechanical and or hydromechanical system using Matlab/Simulink or similar simulation software package.
• Some exposure to requirements definition and management work with DOORS is preferred
• Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance (do not need an active clearance for the position)
