Job Summary:
Plans and designs an organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software. Analyzes, develops, modifies, tests, and maintains the system. Verifies and validates systems and meets internal and external requirements. Diagnoses problems and provides recommendations for improvement on existing and new systems. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. May assume a team lead role for the work group.
Position Focus:
Build, maintain, & manage Linux servers to establish a stable and secure foundation for application layers
Provide engineering guidance for new projects requiring use of a Linux system or existing infrastructure supported by the team
Expertise in hosting container technology; administer infrastructure providing framework for containers to be deployed
Administer internal applications and infrastructure which support SDLC, Identity Management, Security, Enterprise Monitoring, and other internal groups as consumers
Support load balancing configurations routed through on-prem BigIP F5 devices including certificate management
Support systems through automation using Ansible Automation Platform, Jenkins, and Github Actions
Participate in a 24x7 on call rotation
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the build, configuration, and documentation of IT infrastructure
Execute technical direction ensuring stability, reliability, and integration
Ensure adherence to IT standards and service level objectives
Monitor and optimize IT infrastructure.
Define and track performance metrics to ensure efficient use of IT resources
Design and implement robust and secure IT solutions
Support and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Serve as technical liaison and mentor junior staff
Responsible for the development and implementation of best practices
Skills & Abilities:
Well-developed understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and data structures
Well-developed understanding of software engineering best practices
Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills
Well-developed interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Proven ability to lead and manage staff; ability to manage multiple/complex projects, meeting deadlines and budget
Proven ability to write precise, detailed technical specs and documentation
Necessary Skills:
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Experience with automation tools including Ansible Automation Platform, Jenkins, Github Actions.
Experience with load balancers, preferably F5 BIG-IP.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with VMware.
Experience with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). Linux Processional Institute Certified Engineer (LPIC-2) or higher.
Required Education & Experience: Bachelor s Degree in related field and 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
