Duties

• Serve as a Senior Engineering Technician for the administering of construction and A and E contracts for the Fort Sill DPW Engineering Division.
• Apply extensive practical engineering principles and practices as well as a thorough knowledge of construction principles in the process of administering contracts.
• Process contract modifications and/or prepare task order awards requiring a government cost estimate.
• Review and resolve large claims and/or requests for equitable adjustment (REA) and claims that may take a significant time to process.
• Ensure projects are entered into Projects and status maintained inside GFEBS.
• Conduct a wide array of activities associated with negotiating changes and new task order awards with contractors.
• Establish inspection and testing schedules for customers and lead project engineers.
• Responsible for making on-the-spot decisions and controlling interpretations of plans and specifications to ensure contractor's work is in accordance with accepted construction practices and good workmanship.
• Monitor progress of construction and A and E activities for the Engineering Division.
