Summary :

Assemble chin straps and sews cut pieces of material into chin straps or sewn accessories.

EXPERIENCE :

Industrial sewing experience is required. Individuals who can demonstrate the ability to pass the Ops-Core sewing test will be considered a candidate for Single Needle sewing or operating the Bar Tacking equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (These are things the candidate should possess prior to being hired, i.e., computer skills) :

• Must be detail oriented and quality conscious
• Requires basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
• Requires manual dexterity
• Ability to assemble products quickly and accurately
• Requires repetitive movement
• Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (List the essential functions of the position, i.e., what incumbent is required to do, not how it is done) :

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Sews cut pieces of material into shapes or patterns.
• Operates single needle sewing machine or bar tacker.
• Load or unload material or work piece into machinery
• Use hand or power tools
• Cut or trim fabric or leather
• Maintain consistent production quality
• Read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts
• Basic maintenance of equipment (needle change, thread change, etc.)

CONTACT WITH OTHERS :

Internal : Position requires daily contact with members of Production, Engineering, Materials, and Quality departments.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS :

Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms;

balance; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The individual must have a high level of comprehension, and a high level of general, verbal, and numerical intelligence.

The individual must wear personal protective equipment for their safety as outlined in our Safety Orientation Program.
