JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist.
Department: Human Resources.
Employment Status: Full-time/Regular/Non-exempt.
Qualifications:
- A Christian with strong convictions who is also in agreement with Josiah White’s mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct.
- This person must be 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Psychology, or other HR-related field is required.
- 1-3 years of focused recruitment experience is highly desirable.
- He or she must be a team worker and honest, committed to the mission and values of Josiah White’s, and able to work well with people both within and external to the agency.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, communication, and interpersonal skills, self-initiative, and ability to influence others, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, social media tools, and applicant tracking systems.
- Must have the ability to keep information confidential.
Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
Job Summary:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist helps Josiah White’s accomplish their goal of offering new possibilities to children, teens, and families by leading the recruitment and hiring process. Our organization receives hundreds of applications every year, and this individual will be responsible for sorting through qualified applicants, scheduling, and conducting interviews, and correspond with Hiring Managers to make thoughtful hiring decisions. This position does this by coming up with creative and sustainable recruitment strategies to attract and retain talented candidates. This can look like establishing strong relationships with local schools and churches to develop a pipeline of candidates, as well as occasional travel, event planning, and data tracking. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will partner with Josiah White’s Marketing department to create promotional materials and solutions to drive applications and increase exposure of the work being done at Josiah White’s. Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
Basic Responsibilities:
General Human Resources Departmental Functions:
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Assist to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.
- Train Managers on recruitment and interview process.
- Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
Human Resource Information Systems and Reporting:
- Analyze trends in sourcing to identity best applicant pools and strategic recruitment methods.
- Manage the development and maintenance of the Human Resources sections of the Internet, intranet sites, and ADP pertaining to recruitment and hiring.
- Pull other reports as determined necessary to evaluate other trends, such as number of days to fill, number of applicants, etc.
- Monitor applications and requisitions, ensuring all applicants are equally considered and information is recorded appropriately.
Recruitment:
- With the guidance and under the direction of the CHRO, determine an annual calendar of events for recruitment including recruitment task force meetings, internal reporting, and auditing practices, and external sourcing and relationship-building activities.
- Partner with other employees and participate in college and community recruitment initiatives across the state in order to generate a pipeline of talent for all position types within Josiah White’s.
- Build sustainable relationships with key constituents at Christian colleges and within the communities that surround all of Josiah White’s offices.
- Utilize exceptionally innovative sourcing techniques and leverage technology to find active and passive candidates, and establish a network of talent and resources.
- Effectively utilize social media and other job board opportunities to advertise Josiah White’s employment opportunities, monitoring with the use of key metrics how applicants learn of Josiah White’s and determining which tools result in the highest rate of return on investment.
- Drive the recruitment and selection processes for assigned positions, which includes: Recruitment planning meetings with hiring managers; develop and measure leading measures utilized in acquiring new and top talent.
- Review and manage applications in applicant management system.
- Conduct phone and in-person interviews for assigned positions.
- Facilitate consensus meetings following interviews.
- Lead communication efforts with prospective new hires through the point of written offers being extended.
- Evaluate internal and external compensation data and make pay recommendations to hiring managers.
- Develop strategic recruitment activities and initiates to diversify our applicant pool and support the agencies diversity and inclusion initiatives.

- Must have excellent communication, listening, and writing skills. Must have high customer service skills.
- Must have strong technical and computer skills related to social media and other sourcing / recruitment platforms.

Physical Demands of Position:
- Must be able to type and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to drive long distances and travel regularly across the state of Indiana.
- Must be able to carry and otherwise transport boxes and materials that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to go up and down stairs.
Working Conditions:
- Normal work days will be Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
- Must work evenings and weekends on occasion and as appropriate in order to attend relative events outside of normal business hours.
- Must travel to attend professional conferences and provide in-person support to regional offices as needed.
- Must attend work regularly and be on time.
