Tax Attorney acts as organization's representation in dealing with local, state, and federal taxing agencies. Responsible for developing tax saving plans and preparing legal documents involving liabilities. Being a Tax Attorney offers counsel on the impact of tax laws and preparation of tax activities. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Additionally, Tax Attorney requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Tax Attorney work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Tax Attorney typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Ideally, the successful candidate will have an existing book of clients and be a great addition to the team. Primary responsibility would be tax preparation and accounting services for new and existing clients.

    The successful applicant will also work alongside our team at Helium Advisors, a Financial Planning and Investment Advisory firm. Opportunities for advancement, partnership track, and flexible work schedule are available.

    Job Duties:
    • Conducting tax interviews with clients
    • Tax planning and research
    • Preparing individual, state & corporate tax returns
    • IRS audit support
    • Growing existing tax practice
    • Working closely with our financial planning and advisory team
    • Continuing education and ongoing professional development
    • Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client and firm expectations
    Qualifications:
    • Credentials: Enrolled Agent (active)
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field
    • A minimum of 3 years recent tax preparation experience
    • Understanding of tax code
    • Ability to work independently
    • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Great communication skills and ability to work closely with clients
    • Strong computer skills
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certified Public Accountant (active)
    • Working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, and ProSeries/CCH ATX or comparable tax software
    • Audit/Compilation Experience
    • Ok with flexible schedule
